About the Tools
▶What is MeepleShelf?
MeepleShelf is a free board game toolkit with score trackers, a dice roller, turn timer, game night mode, and more. It works in your browser and offline — no app download or account required.
▶Which board games are supported?
We support 26 popular games including Catan, Wingspan, Terraforming Mars, Agricola, Dune: Imperium, Azul, Root, Scythe, 7 Wonders, Ticket to Ride, Everdell, Great Western Trail, and more — all with real images from BoardGameGeek. You can also create custom games with your own scoring categories.
▶Does MeepleShelf work offline?
Yes! MeepleShelf is a Progressive Web App (PWA). Install it to your home screen and use it without internet. All data is stored locally on your device.
▶Is MeepleShelf really free?
Yes. Every tool is free and most work without an account. Signing in only lifts limits — a longer game history, campaigns and prototypes.
▶What tools does MeepleShelf offer?
Score Tracker (26 games + custom), Live Multi-Device Sessions, Statistics & Achievements Dashboard, Dice Roller (d4–d20), Turn Timer, First Player Selector, Game Night Mode, Campaign Tracker, Game Picker, Game Compare, Hidden Role Assigner, Color Blindness Simulator, Setup Helper, and Public Profiles — plus designer tools: Dice Probability, Deck Odds, Action Economy, Card Generator, and Print Sheet.
Score Tracking
▶What's the difference between Live and End-Game scoring?
Live mode lets you tap +/- buttons to update scores in real time as you play. End-Game mode gives you text fields to enter all category scores at once when the game is over.
▶Can I undo a score change?
Yes. There's an undo button during active games that reverts the last score change. Up to 50 undo steps are kept per session.
▶How many players can I track?
It depends on the game — most templates support 1–4 or 2–5 players, and a few go up to 7 or 8. Custom games let you set your own player range.
▶Where is my game data stored?
Your games are saved in your browser first, so everything works offline. If you sign in, sessions, game nights and custom games are also synced to your account so they follow you across devices; Campaign Tracker data is stored in the cloud. History limits: 20 games without an account, 50 with a free account.
Live Sessions
▶What is a Live Session?
Live Session lets everyone score from their own phone in real time. The host creates a session, shares a QR code or link, and guests join to edit their own scores — all synced instantly.
▶Do guests need to install anything?
No. Guests just open the link in any browser. No app download, no account needed.
▶What happens if someone disconnects?
The app automatically tries to reconnect. Scores are preserved locally, so no data is lost. A toast notification shows the connection status.
▶How many devices can join a Live Session?
There's no hard limit. Each player in the game can claim their slot from a different device. Spectators can watch in real time too.
Community Libraries
▶How do I share a player aid?
Open any supported game page and scroll to the Player Aids section, then click "Upload a player aid". You'll need a free account. Upload a PDF or image, pick a format (summary / setup / scoring / reference) and a language. Submissions enter the moderation queue — once an admin approves it, your aid is public on the game page and at /player-aids. Each account can submit up to a small monthly quota.
▶Are house rules deleted?
Your house rules stay published as long as they're useful and respect site rules. As the author you can edit or delete your own rule at any time from the game's House Rules tab. Admins remove submissions only if they break the content policy (spam, plagiarized rules, hateful content) — and we surface why on the moderation log. Comments on a deleted rule are removed with it.
▶What happens if my campaign data is deleted?
Campaign data is cloud-synced and tied to your account. If you delete a campaign from the Campaign Tracker, its scenario progress and character sheets are removed immediately and cannot be restored — there is no soft delete. If you delete your account, all your campaigns are deleted.
▶How do I add a game to the Turkish localization list?
Go to /lokalizasyon and click "Lokalizasyon gönder" (Submit localization). Sign in with a free account, fill the BGG ID, game name, Turkish publisher, translation type (full / partial / rules-only) and release year. Submissions enter the moderation queue — once approved by a curator, the entry appears in the public list and the Turkish badge shows up on the game page. Free accounts can submit up to 5 entries per month.
Privacy & Your Data
▶How do I back up my MeepleShelf data?
Open Profile → Backup & Restore. You can export a single JSON file containing your sessions, game nights, custom games and hidden-role templates, then import it on any device. The file is built and read entirely in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
▶Do the Hidden Role Assigner, Color Blindness Simulator and Setup Helper send data to a server?
No. All three tools run 100% in your browser. Roles are assigned locally, color-blind transforms run on your device's canvas, and setup checklists are pure UI — no images, names or roles ever leave the device.
▶How is my Power Ranking / ELO calculated?
ELO is computed locally on your device from your game history. We use a standard pairwise N-player ELO update (K=32, initial 1000) processed in chronological order. Nothing is sent to a server — change devices and you'll need to import your backup to keep the same ratings.
For Designers & PnP
▶Can I add my own prototype game and track playtests?
Yes. Create a custom game in Score Tracker, then turn on Prototype Mode to add a version, designer notes and an optional PnP source link. You can keep up to 3 active prototypes. Each playtest is a normal session, so all your stats, achievements and head-to-head views work the same way.
▶Are the designer tools (dice probability, deck odds, action economy) anonymous?
Yes — these calculators are 100% client-side and don't require an account. Inputs and results never leave your browser, which means BGG-style probability questions can be answered privately while you tune your design.
▶Is the Card Generator output really print-ready?
It produces a real PDF (A4 or US Letter) with proper card sizes (poker / bridge / tarot) and crop marks via the Print Sheet tool. PDFs include a small MeepleShelf credit footer, and there is a limit of 120 cards per month.
Account
▶Do I need an account to use MeepleShelf?
No. Most tools work without an account. A free account adds cloud sync across devices, higher history limits, a public profile, blog comments and community submissions.
▶How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile page and scroll to the Danger Zone section. Confirm deletion by typing DELETE. This removes your profile, comments, and avatar permanently.
▶Is my data private?
Yes. Without an account, your game data never leaves your device. If you sign in, synced data and account details (email, display name) are stored securely in Supabase. We don't sell or share your data. See our Privacy Policy for details.
